Our History
Founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1988, House Rabbit Society is an International Animal Welfare organization with its headquarters here at the House Rabbit Society San Francisco Bay Area location.
Our facility was purchased in 2000 and made possible by our wonderful donors, the fundraising efforts of our volunteers and the support of the rabbit community as a whole. The facility advances rabbit medical care by providing low cost medical services, rabbit surgical training for veterinarians and medical volunteer hours for aspiring RVTs and Veterinarians. We strive to provide up-to-date health, wellness and behavior by way of digital and in person classes. Through our adoption and foster programs, we save rabbit’s from the threat of euthanasia, build their confidence and trust, and pair them with loving families.
